GENK (B) – What a weekend. What a race. What a breakthrough.
This past Sunday, Karting Genk played host to Round 3 of the IAME Benelux Series — and once again, Bruce Chirino stole the spotlight.
With three dominant victories — P1 in Heat 1, Heat 2, and the Final — he didn’t just claim the top step of the podium. He took over the championship lead in the Mini Rookie class.
Heat 1 – Early attack, flawless control
After a strong qualifying session that put him on P2, Bruce started Heat 1 from the front row. And in true Bruce fashion, he didn’t waste any time. By lap two, he had already taken the lead.
From that moment on, he set the pace — lap after lap with precision, focus, and no mistakes. He crossed the finish line first, kicking off race day with power and confidence.
Heat 2 – From P5 to glory
Bruce once again started Heat 2 from P2. But this one had more drama in store.
During the formation lap, something went wrong, causing a red flag and a restart. After two more formation laps, Bruce surged into the lead by turn 6 — but the battle was far from over.
He dropped back to P3, then P5, but didn’t give up for a second. With razor-sharp overtakes, smart racecraft, and relentless determination, Bruce began climbing back.
With just a few laps to go, he reclaimed the lead and took the win. Another P1.
Oh — and he also set the fastest lap of the race.
Final – Bruce the Brave seals the deal
The final? Nothing short of commanding.
Once again, Bruce clocked the fastest lap and controlled the race from start to finish. He drove with focus, confidence, and pure race class — securing his third win of the day.
No question about it: Bruce was the driver of the weekend.
Leading the championship standings
With this incredible hat trick, Bruce is now the championship leader in the IAME Benelux Series (Mini Rookie).
It’s a massive achievement and a sign of what’s to come — showing that Bruce not only has the speed, but also the strategy, resilience, and heart of a true champion.
